Modern technology has been utilized in manufacturing processes to produce new products. People on earth keep using natural resources to put into factory much more than organic elements reborn from natural emerging. This is an issue we cannot overlook because it causes bigger problems nowadays such as pollution, natural resources scarcity, climate change etc. Therefore, we, especially national leaders from all over the world have been discussing and attempting to figure out solutions. Some were successful and some are still being worked in progress, at least, we all started for better world living !!

What is about “Design” aspect ?

There are several questions regarding to this topic. One of them is how product design, architecture and interior design can do something to influence this mega trend ? More importantly, smart home functions also reduce natural resources consumption such as electronic appliances with solar system.

Furthermore, Covid – 19 accelerated everything, especially for life changing to digital mode for physical distancing. “Work From Home” concept has been practical up to now. It becomes an offered benefit to workforce every level in organization. Therefore, interior designers creatively allocate spaces with flexibility and adaptable spaces for advantages of work and personal activities at home. Designing for multipurpose use, incorporating movable furniture, and creating areas suitable for remote work or study are expected to be relevant considerations in interior design.

According to pandemic, we all have been negatively affected. Economic downturn happens everywhere. Also fuel price increases and inflation remains, purchasing power decreases, people then save more, pay less to carry cash as much as we can. Hence, we seldom buy new items, we use things longer and fix the broken ones.
